My Approach to Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy consists of a dialogue between you and me. We meet once or twice a week on a regular basis. My approach is based on contemporary psychoanalytic thinking. This view recognizes that many of your problems are triggered by beliefs and feelings that you may not be conscious of until you begin to talk about them. In therapy, we will develop a close collaboration to explore in depth your internal world. A safe, confidential and trusting atmosphere helps you talk freely about your private thoughts, feelings, memories and dreams. Once these are brought into conscious awareness and we understand them together, a process of personal transformation and growth is set in motion.

My Specialities

I work with professionals and executives, including lawyers, doctors, therapists, accountants, and managers. Therapy helps them develop aspects of their emotional intelligence necessary to reach their goals. For example, I work with professionals who have devoted their lives to their jobs and have not developed a satisfying personal life. I help them explore their fears and other difficult emotions and develop greater capacities for emotional connection. We work together to identify and overcome barriers to success in their personal and professional lives.
